Haynes
International Motor Museum
The prestigious Haynes International Motor Museum, at Sparkford
in Somerset offers an excellent day out for everyone. With more
than 340 cars and bikes displayed in stunning style, dating from
1886 to the present day, it is the largest international motor museum
in Britain.
Glastonbury
Tor
The dramatic and evocative Tor dominates the surrounding countryside
and offers spectacular views over Somerset, Dorset and Wiltshire.
At the summit of this very steep hill an excavation has revealed
the plans of two superimposed churches of St Michael, of which only
the 15th-century tower remains.
Leland
Trail
The Leland Trail traverses traditional lowland landscapes of dairy
and arable farming and links beautiful villages and towns in the
heart of South Somerset. The Trail uses definitive rights of way,
tracks and lanes following in the footsteps of John Leland who travelled
through South Somerset at some time during the period 1535-1543.

Yeovilton
One of the world's largest aviation museums with over 90 aircraft
in the collection on display including the British Concorde prototype

Sherborne
Castle
Built by Sir Walter Raleigh in 1594, Sherborne Castle has been home
of the Digby family since 1617. Set in 40 acres of glorious 'Capability'
Brown landscaped gardens and grounds around his 50 acre lake, the
Castle contains a splendid collection of art, furniture and porcelain.
Stourhead
Gardens
Celebrated 18th-century landscape garden and Palladian mansion.
An outstanding
example of the English landscape style, this splendid garden was
designed by Henry Hoare II and laid out between 1741 and 1780.
